Colonial portal and corredor
As an addition to a late 1800s colonial house, the goal was to integrate the terrace and roof seamlessly into the original architecture. To accomplish this we used all reclaimed local hardwood (ebony, amapa, and mora) beams, columns and vigas for the roof. We commissioned traditional hand made cement tile for the floor, and the column bases were a combination of antique original cantera and faithful reproductions. We finished off with ceiling fans, period style wall sconces, and upturned outdoor lights highlighting the columns.
"You and your team did a wonderful job building our new patio. Your dedication to using historically accurate materials and techniques resulted in an addition that looks as if it had always been a part of the house. We appreciated your creative input, attention to detail, and commitment to giving us exactly what you promised. Great job! The new patio is already one of our favorite places in the house."
